LTTE duplicity revealed: A-9 Road open for civilian traffic A-9 road is at present opened from Omanthai for civilians and transfer of essential food items to the peninsula. The truth in the closure of the A-9 road is that although the Omanthai entry/exit post is open by the SL Government to facilitate day to day needs of the Wanni and Jaffna civilians, the LTTE is not permitting the people to leave the un-cleared areas through Muhamalai. Especially those between 15 & 38 years of age are prohibited by the LTTE from leaving the un-cleared areas.

TWO TAMIL YOUTHS DISGUSTED with the Tiger terrorists surrendered to the Army camp in VANDARAMOOLAI, today (03) at 7.00 a.m.
One of them had sat the 'A' level examination and was returning home when Tiger terrorists kidnapped him on 25 October. The other was a mason by profession who was also returning home after work when he was kidnapped by the Tigers on the same day.

The Sri Lanka Air Force bombed Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam military facilities of a Sea tiger base in Mannar and a military training facility in the rebel stronghold of Kilinochchi .
The attacks by the government came following rebel attacks on Muhamalai in Jaffna killing one soldier and injuring two.
With Tamil Tigers preparing for military attacks in the East the, Sri Lankan Air force conducted planned air strikes today November 2 to well identified tiger targets in Kilinochchi and Mannar to preempt the LTTE's offensive efforts, a military source said. |

During the peace talks in Geneva the Tigers increased their cadres and their heavy weapons deployment in Kadiraveli, Mavilaru south and Kadjuwatte North areas. After the Peace Talks in Geneva the Tigers escalated their mortar and Artillery attacks on the Kadjuwatte and Mankerni Army camps from their positions in Kadiraweli. These sporadic artillery and mortars attacks intensified but was repulsed successfully by the Security forces. These Tiger attacks reached its peak on Tuesday (31) and on Wednesday (01) with ground and aerial intelligence reports confirmed Tiger terrorist were precisely targeted by air strikes although pro Tiger terrorist media outlets allege otherwise. |

Anti-LTTE Demo In Geneva- Switzerland |

A massive anti-LTTE demonstration was held in front of the United Nations (UN) Office in Geneva, Switzerland on Saturday 28th October 2006. The protest was jointly organised by Sri Lankans Against Terrorism - United Kingdom (SLAT-UK) and Campaign Against Separatism Terrorism In Sri Lanka (CASTIS) - Swiss Chapter.
The venue was in close proximity to where the Sri Lankan government delegation and Tamil Tiger Terrorists group had their peace talks inside the UN building. A huge patriotic Sri Lankan crowd gathered with busloads of people coming from Zurich, Bern and other major cities in Switzerland. The group, waving Sri Lankan flags and displaying placards, yelled out anti-LTTE slogans in the protest, which lasted for over 5 hours. |

Fishing community in the North Colombo area of Sri Lanka who lost their livelihood due to the strict fishing ban around the Colombo harbour were seen breaking the iron parts of abandoned ship hulks near the Modara fishing harbour situated adjacent to the Colombo Port. They were going to sell the cast iron to junk yards to earn some money to keep the family fires burning.
"We are starving," one woman of the fishing community of Modara said in an angry tone. Her children stayed at home without attending schools. "We didn't have rice to eat for days now," she said. |
